Hello Leola,

We’re dropping you a note to confirm that we received your case submission at Uncovered

What happens next? Rest assured that our team is busily reviewing all case submissions.  While we would like to be able to help everyone seeking our assistance, we realize that certain types of cases are better suited for our site than others. Therefore, we have established the following selection criteria for cases that are included on our website:

  • The victim must be missing, murdered, or died of a suspicious death, and the case must be currently unsolved.
  • Every case must be at least 36 months old. Every case is important, regardless of how long ago the person went missing or was murdered. That said, Uncovered focuses on cases that have generally received much less attention from media and law enforcement.
  • The missing person must have vanished within the United States.
  • Each case must be on file with a law enforcement agency, and there must be contact information (e.g. a phone number) available for that agency.
  • There must be at least one photograph or drawing of the missing individual available.

Once we have reviewed your case, we will send you an email letting you know whether it will be added to Uncovered.  If it is determined that your case is not a good fit for the site, we will be as transparent as possible as to the reasons why. Sometimes we may ask for additional information before a decision is made.

We try to respond to all case submissions within two weeks, but that can vary due to the number of submissions we receive.

In the meantime, we encourage you to check out Uncovered and the cases we currently have visualized. Like and follow us on Twitter and Instagram so you can share information on other missing and murdered persons.

Families deserve answers, victims deserve a voice, and no one should be a statistic. Together, we can make a difference.

Warm regards,

The Uncovered Case Research Team
