I was 44 years old when my life as I knew it ended. In 1980, my son, Mike, was living in an apartment with his girlfriend, Linda Gray, and the man who was renting the apartment when the DEA Agents (State Police) entered their apartment with a search warrant. He  was arrested for trafficking in drugs when they found 2 pounds of marijuana, 500 pills and drug paraphernalia.  This was his only arrest for trafficking in drugs. He went to court to be sentenced on December 3, 1980 and escaped from the courthouse after being sentenced to 5 years plus 1 year to run concurrent with the 5 years.  February 24, 1980, his burnt body was found under a pile of week old fire rubble. The men who murdered Mike has never been charged for his murder. I am now 85 years old and have spent the last 41 years fighting for justice for Mike. The authorities in Maine covered up for the men who killed Mike and the lead detective on Mike's case obstructed justice.
