HERRIN OBITUARY OCT. 1, 1993

Norman Herrin's Oct. 1, 1993 obituary states that
"through [Norman Herrin’s] efforts, the Lucerne-in-Maine Fire Department
was created in 1949 and The Dedham Fire Department in 1960. He served as
fire chief of both departments until he retired in July of 1983. Chief
Herrin was one of the first instructors in the Fire Service Training
Program within the Department of Education, State of Maine and served
from 1957 to 1979. He taught firefighters in most Hancock County towns
and neighboring counties."
