The reporter says Mike escaped while he was being led to court for
sentencing is not correct. Mike went to court on Dec. 3, 1980 for drug
trafficking in
March of 1980 and was found guilty. He was allowed to go the clerk's office to call his father.
His attorney was doing an appeal and he wanted his father to bail him
while his case was appealed.
